ShortsPilot AI ("we", "our", or "the extension") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Data We Collect

When you use ShortsPilot AI, we collect:

• Video transcript data: When you click our extension on a YouTube video, the publicly-available transcript is sent to our backend for AI analysis. We do NOT download or store the video itself.
• Video metadata: Video ID, title, duration — all publicly available on YouTube.
• Account information (Pro users only): Email address and authentication token for subscription management.
• Usage analytics: Number of analyses performed (for quota enforcement). No personally identifiable information is collected for free users.

2. Data We Do NOT Collect

• We do NOT access your browsing history outside of YouTube.
• We do NOT read your personal information from other websites.
• We do NOT sell, share, or expose your data to third parties.
• We do NOT use your data for advertising.

3. How We Use Your Data

Collected data is used solely to:

• Analyze video transcripts and generate Shorts suggestions via AI (Google Gemini API).
• Enforce free-tier usage limits (3 analyses per day for free users).
• Manage Pro subscriptions and process payments (via Lava.top).

4. Third-Party Services

ShortsPilot AI uses:

• Google Gemini API: AI analysis of video transcripts. Transcript text is sent to Google's servers subject to their Privacy Policy.
• Lava.top: Payment processing for Pro subscriptions. Payment data is handled by Lava (Lavalane LTD, Cyprus). See their Privacy Policy.

5. Data Retention

Transcript data is processed ephemerally and discarded after analysis. Usage logs are kept for 30 days for quota enforcement. Subscription records are retained for accounting purposes (7 years minimum per applicable regulations).

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Uninstall the extension at any time — no data is retained after uninstall (besides anonymized aggregate statistics).
• Request deletion of your account data by contacting us at the email below.
• Request a copy of all data we hold about you.
• Cancel your subscription at any time through Lava.top's customer portal.

7. Security

All data is transmitted over HTTPS. API keys and authentication tokens are stored encrypted on our servers. We follow industry best practices for securing user data.

8. Children's Privacy

ShortsPilot AI is not intended for users under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Material changes will be communicated to Pro users via email.
